German IP-Boutique KLAKA establishes a branch office in Düsseldorf
Munich, Aug. 26, 2010: The renowned Munich-based IP law office KLAKA Rechtsanwälte will establish a branch office in Düsseldorf, Germany in October 2010. The branch office will be managed by patent litigation specialist Olaf Giebe. He will be accompanied by Dr. Constantin Kurtz, who is active both in patent matters as well as in matters of trademark and unfair competition law. As one of the leading law offices in intellectual property law in Germany, KLAKA is now represented with its own branch office in the most important German venue for patent litigation, also home of the District and Higher Regional Courts for North Rhine-Westphalia. In this expansion, KLAKA Rechtsanwälte relies on the excellent reputation of its many years of legal practice in the field of patent law. The Munich-based partners Dr. Michael Nieder, Dr. Wolfgang Götz and Dr. Stefan Eck remain available for representation in all relevant Courts for patent litigations. At its branch office in Düsseldorf, the law office will be represented by partner Olaf Giebe and associate Dr. Constantin Kurtz in the core areas of its IP practice.
Olaf Giebe has represented German and international enterprises and groups in complex patent infringement matters for more than 20 years. These enterprises cover a large number of technical areas and industries, especially chemistry, the pharmaceutical industry, biotechnology, electronics and mechanics. The focus is thereby particularly on the pharmaceutical industry as well as the automotive industry. Due to his work as attorney at the District Court and the Higher Regional Court of Düsseldorf and at all other important infringement Courts, and due to his participation in a large number of lawsuits before the Federal Court of Justice, the Federal Patent Court and the European Patent Office, Olaf Giebe has wide experience in infringement matters.
Dr. Constantin Kurtz is specialised in the enforcement of and consultancy in the field of intellectual property rights. The focus of his work is on the forensic representation of clients in matters of infringement of patents, trademarks and utility models as well as in unfair competition matters. In the Düsseldorf office, he will also provide consultancy with respect to trademark law and unfair competition law.
