Comment: The law firm is one of the leading litigation firms in trademark and competition law, which has achieved an impressive reputation among German medium-sized companies with its partner-centered advisory approach. For many years, the firm has represented BMW in numerous, often fundamental proceedings, most recently in a highly regarded ECJ decision on the applicability of national law to subsequent claims arising from EU trademark and design infringements. In recent years, the law firm has also acquired a large experience in the disputes concerning 'M', one-letter and color trademarks and their enforcement. Klaka is also working more and more extensively for other large German companies such as long-term clients Deichmann and Beiersdorf. But in particular its specialization in geographical indications of origin continues to spread - also internationally: Klaka has been representing the Champagne Association for a long time, and recently other associations for the protection of French designations of origin have been joining as clients. A highlight in this field, however, took place in Germany: Klaka closely advised its long-standing client Nomos on trademark and antitrust law in connection with the introduction of the " Glashüttenverordnung".
